Temporary dermal fillers consist of a soft colourless injectable gel of hyaluronic acid. The product contains water and hyaluronic acid, which is a natural compound and has been used for years to treat several skin conditions.
This compound helps hydrate and add volume to your skin. Note that hyaluronic acid exists naturally in the body however, as you age its production decreases gradually and as a result, wrinkles appear, and the skin may lose its elasticity and volume leading to ageing and drooping of the skin tissue.
Because each product differs in terms of benefits and effects, before any treatment is carried out we carry out a thorough consultation where we do a thorough analysis of your skin in addition to discussing your expectations and requirements. We also determine the exact amount of dermal filler and which product that would be needed to give you the look you desire.

Dermal filler treatments are restricted to the neck, face, hands and décolletage and we do not treat any patients under the age of 18 years.
This treatment is virtually pain-free because the products contains an anaesthetic, however, we also tend to further numb the area before treatment for additional comfort. After the treatment you can expect some mild bruising or swelling that will disappear in a couple of days. The mild side effects shouldn’t interfere with your daily routine. The swelling or redness can generally be covered with makeup, and you can go about your activities. It is advisable to keep the treated areas out of sunlight as far as possible during the first five days.
Dermal fillers are ideal for most people and Sheridan will take your age and skin type into consideration. For example people with thinner skin require a slightly different approach than patients with thicker skin.
Depending on the treatment, this procedure can last anywhere between 30 to 60 minutes.
Line Softening Treatment
Smile lines or nasolabial folds can be caused by weight loss, ageing, sun damage and genetics. They run from the nose to the mouth and give you an aged facial appearance. Using dermal in this area is a very effective way of softening these lines, giving you a more youthful look.
Beautiful Lips
Lip fillers are an ideal way of achieving a more beautiful lip shape and size. Whether you are looking for a more voluptuous look or just to enhance the shape, this wonderful treatment gives the lips a more youthful natural beauty and in doing so contributes to the overall appearance of the face.
Sculpted Cheeks
Though often overlooked, a person’s cheeks play a vital role in your facial look. As you age the tissue in the face looses its collagen and support, where gravity takes over and the cheeks begin to sag. The ageing face will appear longer, creating nose to mouth lines and jowls. Treating the cheek area with filler is very a very effective way of lifting the face and in affect creating a mini lift and volume in the midface regaining the youthful curve of your cheeks. Fillers will restore cheek volume and rejuvenate the middle part of your face.
The sculpted cheek is also a very effective treatment for the younger face for those that would like to build natural volume to add definition and contour in the mid-face.
Streamlined Jawline
As we age we experience a loss of continuity in the jawline and this can give the face a less defined appearance. You can achieve a sharper more streamlined jawline through treatment with dermal fillers to this area.
Contoured Chin
This is an important part of the face in providing balance especially when in profile. Previously overlooked it has now become an increasingly popular treatment in the quest for facial symmetry. If you have a retracted chin this treatment can help enhance the lower part of the face by giving you a perfectly contoured chin. These injections also go the extra length of getting rid of wrinkle or lines in the chin area.
Marionette Lines
Marionette lines are the vertical lines that extend from the outer corners of the mouth down to the jawline or either side of the chin. These lines can be caused by several factors such as: repeated expression, loss of volume/support in the upper part of the face which will cause the tissue in the lower face to droop and create and create a fold.
The marionette lines can be successfully treated with dermal fillers where the injectable filler can be placed in the area to build natural volume. Sometimes it is better to treat the upper part of the face as well as it is important to address the cause of the problem (the tissue falling) as well as the symptom (fold).
At the consultation we will look at all aspects and discuss the reasons for the development of the marionette lines and advise the best treatment for you.
Smokers Line / Bar Code Lines
Smokers lines, also known as bar code lines, are the tiny vertical wrinkles that run from the top of your upper lip and run upwards towards your nose. Some people can develop these lines even if they do not smoke although smoking and excessive sun exposure can exacerbate the development and depth of these lines.
It is very important to use the correct injectable product when treating this area as the ideal is to soften these lines without making the area above the lip puffy. To achieve this we always use a very fine hydrating filler such as Restylane vital which achieves the best results to fill and soften the lines in the area.
